Closing the knowledge gap in pelvic neuroanatomy: assessment of a cadaveric training program

Abstract Background The objective of this study is to characterize participants in a laparoscopic cadaveric neuroanatomy course and assess knowledge pelvic before after course. Methods This survey-based cohort with setting university educational facility. are surgeons multiday Participants completed precourse survey, including demographics comfort surgery. They then an identical postcourse anatomic test. Main outcomes scores on the test postcourse. Results 44 respondents were included: 25 fellowship, 15 residency, 2 residents, fellows. average 11.09 years post training, 8.67 from training if they fellowship 18.62 residency only. 22 42 strongly agreed or comfortable performing complex hysterectomies. score was 32.18/50 points mean difference (MDS, defined as Postcourse minus Precourse scores) 9.80, showing significant improvement ( p < 0.001). MDS not significantly different when comparing country practice, level time since training.
